To own a cruise-liner was not my dream;
To have my island own was not my aim;
To be a leader of a global team,
Was not in my agenda for world fame!
To be a doctor-teacher was my goal;
I realized it by the grace of God;
I asked God for a bigger, better role;
But life took me down roads and alleys odd!
Nevertheless, I loved a simple life,
With peace and satisfaction in my toil;
I saw too much of woes and added strife
That wasted many seeds set in good soil!
Life’s aim is how to keep a steady heart,
Despite travail of every kind, by art!
A good sonnet technically and story wise too. See my sonnet Life in the Pub

A technically perfect sonnet and good story lone too.
