Somewhere At Sea (Busted Jaw) Poem by Sophie Allyah

Somewhere At Sea (Busted Jaw)

We're off to South Africa for loading
Today we partially cleaned the vessel
One of the crew that I'm assisting was hit
by the nozzle of the hose in the face
Because of the heavy pressure
The couplings broke and the nozzle was
pushed apart.

Not knowing his face located on his right
lower jaw was wounded and bleeding
While fixing the hose, he boasted:

'"I was lucky that my jaw didn't break."

Now he has a swelled jaw.
