Somewhere At Sea (Adorning The Unknown) Poem by Sophie Allyah

Somewhere At Sea (Adorning The Unknown)

Great Dane in my eyeblink fantasy
a trigger for the word Habakkuk
when did it become a spark?
while I sat alone, away from the dark?

a tall, massive smooth-coated bitch
triggered a prophet named Judah
is something that can't be attached
more like a Pacific yew to Valois
or Laertes in the myth with a Sami

two birthdays being held downstairs,
but here I am making this for a flare

to a Dane, who I dare not to love
for I do not know a word in their tongue

there's a great egret in my head
but I rather have a large canid instead

this is not about the comparison or
what is the connection
this is about a nonsense yelling to my
mind for explanation

fixed somewhere in the sea of Egypt
dizziness hit me in the head for a flip
not about soothsayer but mysterious
far from darkness or ignominious

for fun, and to murder moment

like drowning in viscera expresses a
sentiment
