SOMETHING I LOOK AT-403
BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY
Have you heard the echoes of my aching heart
Felt the silent sobs in my tear-streaked eyes?
You never dared to fathom the depths of my love
The tempest of feelings that rise and subside.
And so, we drift—worlds apart.
In a realm where hearts trade in give and take
Who would believe that love transcends,
A force beyond mere mortal grasp
A whisper woven into the wind?
I do not weep for your departure
But for the absence of your smile, your tears—
Reflections of a soul I knew too well
A presence I deeply cherish
but can no longer trace.
Now my life is but a hollow verse
Once written for you
now left unread.
Since you turned away
I feel no joy, no sorrow—
No pain, no pleasure.
My eyes see nothing
my ears hear none
In your absence
I have turned to stone—
Mute, deaf, devoid of all emotion.
Yet, I hope you walk with light and a smile on lips
Chasing dreams you dared to weave.
And from afar
I will always wish
Your path be strewn with laurels, hues, accolades
Plenty of love, true and genuine which you thoroughly deserve
