Something About Love Poem by Matthew Holloway

Something About Love

I love you
There it is now spoken
What value those three words
carry between two different souls
a weight to one, a spiders web
to the other almost meaningless
brushed aside without thought
love is a cruel and unforgiving mistress
the birth of jealousy and fear
the mother of so much desire
laughs aloud at all human dreams
and so those three words
I love you
need be taken with care
