Someone, Somewhere Out There Poem by Andre Brown

Someone, Somewhere Out There

Someone is still telling jokes they learned from you,
Someone is still using the phrases and words you use,
Someone is still listening to the music you showed them,
Even though you might not; someone remembers that you owe them,
Someone still smiles when they remember a moment with you, Then sighs and reminisces for a moment or two,
Someone has learned how to love from you, they go about their lives maybe without realizing how much of you they've kept with them,
Someone is still encouraged by the advice you gave them,
The way they think and how they handle things differently,
In the small choices they make, or in the way they see things a bit more clearly,
You might just be a memory on the surface but underneath you have become part of who they are, shaping them in ways that might seem small but matter deeply,
& While they may not say it they are grateful for it.
You made a Mark that lasts.
