Some Say Love Poem by L MILTON HANKINS

Some Say Love

Some say love comes to each life but once
Others find it peeking around every corner
Some cast it about like a farmer sows seed
Hoping it roots in a heart's fertile field.
Love is more than an effusive emotion
Common to all and more commonly felt
Sometimes it comes quickly as lightning
Sometimes as slowly as flowing molasses
How can one know when love has arrived
Or how long it will stay (I am not sure…)
Love can make an unsettling appearance
Sometimes leaving as quickly as it came
When it's gone we find someone to blame
