Some people seem to despise outsiders.
Others think they have unhealthy diets,
And that they need to change their dull lifestyles
By jogging, swimming and dancing. They're like
Hamsters constantly running on treadmills.
Well, I guess that's better than popping pills!
Some become depressed and turn to drinking
Or recreational drugs to stop them thinking.
Some think that the end of the world is nigh
And that soon we are all going to die.
Some prefer to invest in real estate.
While others are increasingly irate
At politicians and their wicked lies.
Some look for aliens in starry skies.
Some turn inside themselves for answers
And follow gurus and other chancers.
O do they ever really see the Light!
Is it possible to possess true insight?
As for me, I'm happy working, writing
And painting. Also, I am now hoping,
Via my vast volumes of poetry,
To seal my own place in eternity.
