Solitary Confinement Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Solitary Confinement

Rating: 5.0

AsI am write this,
I am thinking of the gray skies full with song
On the day's beginning
The birds calling
Making me complete with hopefulness
That, within a week or two, life would soon return
But with the absence of human conversation
The bleakness return
And in the solitude watching the birds fly overhead has
Made me want to cry
But it's not a thing you do when you're an adult
It's just the end of the world as we know it
