.....

I loved her
From the heart,
The deepest part
I've ever known.

Crisp as ever
Were a wind-
And patient as
A corner stone.

I loved her
Like a whisper
Lost within
A gentle sigh...

I loved her
With a fire
That could light
The northern sky.

I loved her
Tender as the night,
And grand as
Any sea.

I loved her
Deep, and fierce, and full.
But she did not
Love me.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
"Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it?
It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your
chest and it opens up your heart and it means
that someone can get inside you and
mess you up."

~ Neil Gaiman(The Kindly Ones)
