Soldier's Prayer



Dear God hear me
Get me safely home
Away from this hell on earth
Back to those I love.

Terror overwhelms me
I fear my life will end
Bloody on the battlefield
Never to see my parents again.

Be my strength and purpose
Light within this darkness
Uplift my spirit
So that I might endure and survive.
