Sojourner- -Traveler By Gio Masserati

Traveler

Sojourner- -where are you going?

A musician man took a journey
carrying his many instruments
singing made up songs while on his way
entertaining himself and all the animals
birds and creatures all along the way

He was alive- -a lovely smile
his inner warmth melts my heart
one woman wanted to walk with him
sharing in his instruments and love

this wanderer was not an alien
or a distant foreigner from far off lands
but he declined any offer to travel together
long distance trips were not in his hands

although the woman was saddened, she all but understood
she'd been a gypsy heart herself, of sorts
so their destination ended there
at the 'Y' in the road- -a weather vane like lane

before parting ways the gentle soul took special care
to sing her songs of love with his many instruments
wanting to give her parting, well, a fair share
but by the time he finished, nightfall had come upon them

they snuggled close and took stars in
and lay there under blanket
of starlit sky and blue so high
endless majestic mosaic covering

during the night the man took flight
up in a dream to heaven
he saw himself with love in arms
looked down and saw himself carrying
the woman there, entrusted in his care
and in her hands his many instruments

when in the morn, at break of dawn
he turned to this dear woman
and in her eyes he saw replies
Ditto...Ditto...Ditto!
