In a summer afternoon
While I was in a remote village road,
I was caught in the violent storm,
Being terribly afraid,
I took shelter in a nearby old and dilapidated house.
Surprisingly I felt the house was greeting me with great care and affection
And it muttered in my ears too with deep emotion,
"Can you recognize me?
I am your old friend,
You stayed here for a long time with your loving parents
When you were a mere child,
Will you stay with me for this night and listen to my sorrows and sufferings?
I will be very relieved then."
I stood in utter disbelief,
Suddenly I saw the gale had stopped,
Dark evening was about to fall,
So I did not stop,
Hurriedly I returned home,
But I felt extremely sorry in my heart for the shabby house.
Such thing happens in life,
It may seem trivial, but its impact may be profound in life,
Now very often I lament in my vacant mood if I could spend that night with my old companion
And listen to his grievous heart with true love and attention.
