Soft Starry Nights Poem by David Wood

Soft Starry Nights

Rating: 5.0

Lonely stars pace across
The night sky as the earth
Moves in benign alacrity

Named by the face of man
Where centuries have dripped by
In Monotonous languor now

Begin to shine in high solitude
As dusk becomes night their
Immortal light brings comfort

To lovers and lonely sailors
Adrift on oceans alike their nightly
Glare warm as a coal fire in winter
