Sobibor Skies Poem by Mario, Lucien, Rene Odekerken

We were humans
just like other humans
Living peacefully
in a peaceful world
But than
the skies above changed colour,
blue became grey and black
and the peaceful world we lived in
became a hateful place for people like us
Only, because we were Jewish


Note: I wrote this poem in honor
of all those innocent Jewish people
who lost their lives in Sobibor concentration camp
and all other concentration camps
