Soaring Spirit And Soul Poem by Genice Lorraine De Fabriciano

Soaring Spirit And Soul

Soaring, a Memoir

Soaring into the last two nights
That were soul moons
Full of life
Breathing into the night
I saw it too, the electrified moon,
As well as her son and his wife, now I know why
A soul's fullest life
Leaving this earth to be an integral part
Of something larger in heaven's hearth

Eleven days shy of a hundred years old, Wo!
Can you even count the days
Of a life well maintained?
Soulfulness, indescribably blessed
Joy rings her fiesty spirit singing
Adonai! Adonai!

She will be remembered laughing, smiling, joking, trying...
To lift your spirits too! Changing moods from the sadest blues
To spring time honeysuckle and honeydew, just like her
She was sweet as honey...once you understood her
Her candor and joking way about her was really quite funny.

She liked to have a ball, she had it all
A full life she led with children that loved her, whom she loved much
She was so proud of their love...talked about them all the time
She had marriages, houses, lived in Southern California Sun
Even though she was widowed, her life in Oregon moved on

Now as we're trimming the Christmas tree we think of her fondly
For Oregon transplanted her into gardens of many new friends
An array of flowers blossomed there
Even my mom, was welcomed by her curiosity and care
Her caring way of reaching out and getting to know others
Finding out how they spent their day...then she'd make plans
For future days. Yes, she was warm hearted that way
She was always a busy woman and got things done
A time I remember dearly is when she made Chicken Coco Van
For my mom and me in the Crock-Pot...that was special
We went on many excursions and out to eat alot, Those were all great times together
Food, friends and family are sometimes all you need
To feel at home with caring souls, young and old

Charming and bright, she was, like the morning sun greeting you
At the breakfast nook table to start your day
Then again, in the noon of day, she always had something Sweet
Or funny to say...she made us laugh in a light-hearted way
I love her sense of humor to this day!
Although, I have to admit, she did hurt my feeling safe few times
Unintentionally, ... I took her joking wrong, what do you do?
I got over it soon, after pouting, and foreged forward in forgiveness
Always considering her dearest of friends, that will never end
And family ties and friendships with her kids will continue on forever

Where was I! Oh yeah, we were talking of her sunshine likeness
Yes! She was especially Spicy and saucy too..so very unique
At 5pm the sun would stop by and gazed as she laughed the day away
With a drink in one hand for Happy Hour wherever she was
Everyone she knew understood this about her...as her other hand
Waved out prayers to all the news and cares of the world
Oh, and there were alot of friends on her list that felt her love
From Oregon to Glendale and way across the oceans to Hawaii
Maui, where her heart often glided and soared on a regular basis
Until, finally, phone calls turned into determination to take flight
Literally, with bags packed, house sold, to make her once dream a reality

That's right, Meredith took that flight and another life chapter began
Now her heart, soul, and spirit were finally in a place of content
In one of the most beautiful places in the world, Maui Hawaii
The Hawaiian Islands welcomed her from the distant shores in Alohas
Just as her mind's eye had said. Her favorite beach became Kaanapali

Yes, memories etched deep our friends, Jim and Mischelle
Loving arms of Comfort we send to her sons and daughters
At this Christmas time celebration of life...most especially!
Hugs, thoughts and prayers, we will love to share many a story
There's so many to tell as the years continue on we will remember her
With blessed memories of Meredith's smile, like the sun's glow
And knowing her soul was soaring on the nights almost full moon
On December 20th,2018 at 7ish pm in Maui, Hawaii.

As her son, Jim said, It's all a part of the circle (hello moon)
As some of her ashes will be swam out on her/their favorite beach
Kaanapali, Maui Hawaii...so befitting, her home
And the rest, back to Glendale, Ca. Where her husband rests also,
Along with her parents and her grandparents

God rest Meredith's soul in the serenity of this resting place
Knowing that this is not final...for she is was and ever shall be, a Believer in Christ
Goes on to a much better place of promise.
We Believe!
Alohas, the cherished memories live on for your mom, Meredith is truly a loved one
She will live in our hearts forever!
And, yes, son's and daughters of Christ,
We will surely love those close to us even more today
For spirits here on earth and spirits that have already flown away.

Fly free Meredith, fly free!
Over the mountains and across the seas
To distant gates of angelic heavenlies
Your peacable spirit remains with us.
Amen!
