Smothers my throat when I attempt to deceive and
Caresses my skin after sleeping on cold concrete.
It has masked the scent on my hands after yet another marlboro and
Covered my body to hide the scars.
Yesterday it saved me from the stench of his calogne on my clothes.
Today it is slipping away the black stains on my face from last night's tears.
Maybe tomorrow it will erase all memories of you from my mind but
Tonight I will bathe in its rich aroma
Pasting images of you on the stone walls of my heart,
Clearing a narrow path to my darkest secrets and
Washing away any doubt of my hideous past.
