A funeral you attend
In sympathy of love
Take a look at the corpse
In state lie oblivion
So shall you be
Some day, some time, some where
At the right time of appointment
So weep for thyself dear friend
Not he who is gone
Weep for thy own funeral.

Advice! ! ! To the living! Able to learn from the dead. Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
An equivocal piece. I can imagine no greater irony than gazing on one's own corpse.
A memento mori(remember that you will die) poem! Perfect my friend!

I love the depth and how you inspired self reflection Kingsley, Empathy for all, the young as well as the elder. You touch a sweet spot of the senses KW
