So Will You Be Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

So Will You Be

Rating: 5.0

A funeral you attend
In sympathy of love
Take a look at the corpse
In state lie oblivion
So shall you be
Some day, some time, some where
At the right time of appointment
So weep for thyself dear friend
Not he who is gone
Weep for thy own funeral.

I love the depth and how you inspired self reflection Kingsley, Empathy for all, the young as well as the elder. You touch a sweet spot of the senses KW

An equivocal piece. I can imagine no greater irony than gazing on one's own corpse.
