So Much, So Far Poem by Nika McGuin

So Much, So Far

Where
are you now?
Even in my thoughts
you live - so far away.

A ways back,
deep in the thick rainforests
of my mind
swinging from vine
to verdant vine
always just out of view.
And I always miss you
no matter how long it's been.

Where
are you now?
So far.

Pushing you away
never eased the hurt.
It's only now that I realize
You were only able to hurt me so much
because I - loved you
so much.

Creative poem about a classical subject- love. I like the sense of somebody being 'in the rainforest of my mind.' Nice write...
