Having read the poem and the 'Poet's Notes', I surmise that the title of the poem couldn't be more appropriate. That unsolicited attention and imposing watch on teen age children by over protective and possessive parents sometimes cause a sneaking disrespect to develop in their heart has been quite eloquently expressed by the poet who was in her teens when she wrote this poem.
