Snapshots Poem by Abigail Hauschild

Snapshots

The thing you must understand
Is that these are just the musings
Of a fragmentary girl
In a kaleidoscope world
A poem is a snapshot in time
An overexposed polaroid
Saturated in so much emotion
That it loses a little bit of its reality
And gains a truth only the dreamers can see
So don't be concerned if the words are a bit dark
I'll always leave a light on for you darling
Nightmares only last a little while
And you can turn my daydreams into forever
