Small Recalls Poem by Albert Price

Small Recalls

Each morning You lift Your gleaming golden crown
And awaken me with a divine and pristine light.
So now I thank You Lord for allowing me around,
Relaxing in Your comfort for this long night.
You give me strength to step bravely on the way,
Remembering the Good Samaritans in my life.
I plod on a path of pleasant feelings about the past.
This long journey has been sweet and of little strife.

So, I never want to forget so many special peeps,
Who has taught and rescued me so many a time.
The quiet mornings of yesterday left memories deep.
Of my parents coaxing me from ordinary to sublime.
I think of the preachers blessing me with their word.
They enlivened and edified something within self,
And lead me to accept the One sent down by God,
And to realize the place for the Bible is not the shelf.

When I gaze up at the cloud in the blue sky,
Tears come when people, that I envision,
High up in the stars passing me gently by,
Make me think of how they helped my fruition.
They are God sent points of light above,
Who guide me to the fulfillment of dreams.
And sustain me with memories of love,
For a heritage, my heart still hopefully esteems.

Those who softened my steps across the green-
The wise teachers and professors- sages all,
Visionaries who showed me what life should mean,
Are exalted in my sky as the brightest stars of all.
They are all on my mind as I journey home,
Fueling the fire in my heart turning the wheels.
God, please renew my faith as homeward I come-
Welcome Your grateful servant who before You kneels.
