Sm008. Sri Aurobindo, The Divine Yogi Poem by Rajaram Ramachandran

Sm008. Sri Aurobindo, The Divine Yogi

THE MOTHER OF PONDICHERRY

He wrote books* on various subjects,
Of which the magnum opus was
The Life Divine that brought fame,
All o'er the world, to his name.

Dignitaries many who came to him,
With their appreciations or problems,
Went back with their satisfaction,
Having received his fair opinion.

Two frequent visitors were,
Sri S. Srinivasa Iyengar,
President, All India Congress,
And Subramanya Bharathiar.

French cultural Minister met,
Proposing him as the President
For the Indo-French Cultural
Institute founded on Indian soil.

S.Duraiswami, the great nationalist,
A close friend of Mahatma Gandhiji
Met him to solve a tough legal case,
That, by his touch, received success.

The Maharaja of Mysore came
There many times to consult him
During the merger of his state
With India, after British Rulers left.

Rabindranath Tagore to meet him,
When he observed silence came,
But he then broke his silence
To talk on yoga and his works.

Like this many prominent visitors
Came to him with their problems
Returned happily with solutions,
What they got from his advice.

*His prominent books are: -
(1)The Life Divine, (2)The Synthesis of Yoga,
(3)The Ideal of Human Unity (4)The Human Cycle
(5)Savitri, (6)The Future Poetry,
(7)The Foundations of Indian Culture, etc.
