I love your idea here, and I love the title. It really hints at what the poem is about. Things melting away..that also is deep, deep time which most people can't think about much. I like to imagine the eastern US buried under thousands of feet of glaciers. Because it's an accepted pattern. But hard to wrap your brain around no less.
