A great poem, Barry.In front of me the scene painting so beautifully human's brave courage to defend life.Thinking of translating it, I find it difficult to render slay ride, the loping looping sound
Slay ride is a pun. Probably in-translatable. Loping is the ate of a wolf, the way it moves - to lope. Lupine just means wolf like.
