Skies Brawl Poem by Deluke Muwanigwa

Skies Brawl

Skies Brawl

The heavens have guttural conversations
Hidden behind dark swirling curtains
Deep voices sounding agitated
Someone up there ends up crying
Gallons upon gallons of tears coming down.

We love it when the gods fight behind dark shrouds
We on the ground celebrate their bad moods
That's the time we grow food
Sometimes, though, the fighting gets nasty
And sparks of mega anger hit the ground violently

We lose lives
Livestock
Homes
And homesteads.

What can we do when the gods are crazy?
No use being lazy
We make merry while they fight
Our elation grows.
Skies brawl.
