Sixty Eight Today Poem by Ray Hansell

Sixty Eight Today

Today another birthday
Has caught up to me
The years are getting late
As I can plainly see

I may have lost a step or two
My hearing may be on the decline
My hair has long since gone grey
But to me that's just fine

I know some things we can't control
So, I don't even try
A new pain here, a new pain there
But, you'll never me cry

But through it all my mind is sharp
There's so much I still remember
I was able to write this poem
Remembering my birthday is in September

So, I guess there's much to be happy for
Even through the years are getting late
All in all life has been great
Looking back today when I turned sixty eight
