Sir Winton Churchill Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Sir Winton Churchill

Rating: 3.0

(1874-1965)
"Cometh the hour cometh the man"

Insanity and evil became German Chancellor
Adolf Hitler building his super race
Invading countries, destroying and killing
Seeking the extermination of Jews.

Invaded Poland defying the treaty
With France and Britain
Europe overwhelmed by Nazi tyranny
Churchill refusing to surrender.

Churchill in his sixty-sixth year
Became Prime Minister
With many of his cabinet ministers
Wanting Britain to surrender.

Churchill refused to capitulate
Rallied his heroic people
And Britain stood against infamy
Suffering air raids, destruction and death.

Churchill, stubborn man of destiny
With heroic leadership and determination
Stood firm and set Europe free
From the Nazi yoke of oppression.
