the clouds of tears and blood have covered the rays of happiness in many parts of the world. On symbolic level human hearts are ancient monuments being constantly destroyed. Your verse evoked such feelings,
Yes Yasmeen, true. Our hearts, all those of the entire humanity, are burned, scalded and singed by the extreme hatred these people are trying to spread; extreme fear they prey upon. As you have mentioned, the dark clouds of tears and blood and of course, fear and hatred have inundated any ray of hope and happiness. Let us pray: Lead kindly light! Let Him show them the right path.
Great authentic feel for the heritage and glimpses of historical beauty, everything starts in the end of another but destroying the peace and harmony we are not going to build castles, need of the hour, we'll penned nice drop, thanks
Colours and frangrance of life! Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
This is simply awesome. How humans build n how they destroy...so much irony. It evokes strong emotions in the reader. It is very significant work in historical terms.10
I like the uniqueness of this theme of destruction of centuries old monuments - - you expressed each one's loss with such loving sorrow. I have a feeling that your topics are going to be absorbing, challenging, and.... well... topical [sorry for the pun- I am such a nerd about the fun to be had with a pun.] Your beautiful heart does you credit- though you dislike what has been done you do not call for violence or hatred - - you call for understanding and rebuilding as best we can. Good share, my friend.
Hi Susan, Thank you for the detailed comment. May be my anguish was poured into the paper fully. And I enjoyed the pun; who does not! I know, violence can not be extinguished by violence returned. But non-violent resistance can be practiced only by a Gandhi or a Martin Luther King or Nelson Mandela. Still, somehow, my pen wrote about, rebuilding what was demolished. May be, that is more important and, by that, we may be able to reach out to the perpetrators of this horrendous deed. Thanks again.
writing a poem on the destruction of a number of ancient monuments in Palmyra by Daesh is a praiseworthy initiative. I've appreciate your write. Thanks for sharing
Thank you, Fabrizio. My scalded heart still sobs when I look at the pictures of the monuments destroyed by the islamic fundamentalists.

Thank you Becca for reading this poem and sharing your thoughts. Man’s creativity always reaches to the skies and creates such ingenious sculptures, edifices, paintings, poems etc. which makes the earth liveable. Which elevates man to the level of God. And, man has the destroyer also within him. There is also an element in every human being that enjoys destroying things. This destructive mentality needs to be controlled. Thank you Becca.
