May be failing once. But the predators are victorious in the next chance. The hen has a language of sounds to teach and warn its babies. How this large family goes around in a group with fun is beautifully described!

Brilliant. Poem with a story. Bubbly and bouncy words, keeping me engrossed until the end; of course hoping that the chicks will not be eaten this time (unlike the Tommy who eat the eggs) . Very interesting. You come out with diverse writing. Going to add to my favourites. Going to add the Tommy cat too. LOVED IT.

Beautifully written, a story that is the mystery of nature in all it's different colours as instinct to survive is so powerful.

Beautiful rendering of chicken and her family on a first day out. Careful and close observations are wonderfully captured in the poem. You followed it with a nice picture. I wonder is the picture first or the poem.
