Simple Man Poem by Ray Hansell

Simple Man

My hands are yours
If you need to borrow
To comfort you
To chase away sorrow

My heart is open
To let you in
It doesn't matter
Where you've been

A smile I'll wear
To light your way
To hopefully brighten
A sad lonely day

Words of hope
Will fill your ears
I'll help dry
All you're tears

If you must cry
To ease the pain
I will stay
Just the same

I'll comfort you
When you're distressed
I'll hold you close
So you know you're blessed

You and I together
Will talk with God
We'll let Him know
Things have been hard

We'll ask of Him
Wants He wants to give
He knows our faith in Him
Will always live

Together life's burdens
We will share
Doing it together
Will get us there

So I promise
That you and I
Together we're always
Going to try

There is nothing
I wouldn't do
To ease the pain
That you've been through

So now you know
Just where I stand
Will you accept
This simple man?
