Silvery Streams Of Thread the Work Of A Genius Poem by john (called jack) wren

Silvery Streams Of Thread the Work Of A Genius

A spiders web hangs exposed
by tear drops of dawn dew
like silky lace they glisten
and enrich the Autumn hue
it shimmers and dances
gaily in the breeze
in a gesture of enchantment
from hedgerow and tree.

the spider waits patiently
silent and unseen
for some unwary insect
to fulfil its nocturnal dream
the rising Sun warms the mood
bringing out a sound so melodious
from insects swirling hand in hand
so agreeable and harmonious
this bewitching intoxication
cunning fills their head
as one by one they tumble
upon silvery streams of thread
