a great poem in praise of Nature giving this Brooklyn boy a real feeling for the vast Pacific and the wonders presented there to uplift the human spirit so often tortured by concrete and smoke this poem a wonderful gift to the world
Hello Ray - it's a small world after all. Your poem 'Siletz Bay on the Oregon Coast' brought some beautiful memories! I lived at the small town of Siletz, up the river from the Bay from 1937 to 1942, graduating from Siletz High School in 1940. In 1943 I enlisted in the U.S. Navy WAVES. After the war I came to Seattle and have lived here ever since, but I still remember the Siletz River and thank you for your great poem! My dad used to fish for eels in the Siletz River, as well as all the trout and salmon. GREAT MEMORIES. THANK YOU. Also was inspired by your poem 'How to be Happy'.
