Silenced Life Poem by Carolyn Brunelle

Silenced Life

How strong
you must've been
to live that way
a caged sparrow;
no mercy, no open doors.

Life that would have you
submit your life.

Told by preacher,
parent and politic
you have inferior wings
not meant to fly;
know your place
and do it 'til you die.
