'We listen to words so we can silently reach into the other.' - Jelaluddin Rumi I first found Rumi when I was ten years old. Recognition of the silence of everything was as personal to me as the echo of my own heart beat coming back to me from the universe. After more that fifty years of reading Rumi, I still feel the silence and knowing of other masquerading as self. This is a wonderful response to Rumi... Thank you.

I understand the paradox - that in order to explain the unexplainable, you need the very words that become unnecessary when you are immersed in that awesome silence beyond the beyond. I teach yoga from such a place, using words that appear in my head and allow me to take my students on a journey into their bodies and the art of self-knowing - words from the stillness that continue to surprise and delight me every day. Rumi does the same thing with original and exceptional clarity and beauty. Thanks for sharing this very intimate and very honest devotional response to his poetry. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

No doubt to live in Rumi's silence is to really live.

What a tribute to the great master of verse. Love permeates in Rumi's poetry through and through. Here you have glorified the silence of Rumi, in eternal words, Chakraborty.10+++ This is the first poem that goes to my favourite list.

I quote...'Be pure emptiness. What is inside that? you ask. Silence is all I can say.' (Rumi) It was only recently I found Rumi, I became immediately enchanted by his wisdom. To be here now, to enjoy each present moment, is a joy we cannot buy, but by discipline and practise it comes, then a joy for all things natural. Thank you for leading me to your poems, I have enjoyed reading this one and have taken it with me to enjoy at leisure. Warm Regards Bob Blackwell
