Silence is often associated with a peaceful mood but the silence you're experiencing is just the opposite. It is caused by the absence of a loved one, his conversation with you has stopped and you can't find another to replace him. Since he abandoned you for another woman, his absence is a betrayal. But your reaction is not anger toward him, but a deep sadness at this lost opportunity for happiness. His absence has emptied the world for you - you are psychologically alone. And the poem cannot see beyond this moment of.loss. But as you wander now bereft of love, you will cross a path that will take you to a new person. But that will be another poem. (I should probably write THE SPEAKER instead of YOU. It'd impossible to tell if a lyric poem is autobiographical.)

Dearest Daniel, thank you so much for your kind comment! You have such a loving way of finding the exact emotions that were described in a poem, regardless if the poet tried to write an autobiographical poem or not. Indeed these are the feelings that I wanted to depict. Thank you! ! !
