Show Us The Darkness Poem by Detek Campbell

Show Us The Darkness

In the shadows where whispers play,
Words like daggers cut through the gray.
They want reactions, a dance of the mind,
Zombified actions, leaving reason behind.

Twirling thoughts, a reset of soul,
Buffing confusion takes its toll.
Age-old echoes rise from the deep,
Tangled in webs that we silently keep.

Unwise men stumble on paths overgrown,
Lies that were buried now seek to be known.
Puzzles of heartache twist in the air,
Searching for truths that seem so unfair.

Back then we were woven, love's gentle embrace,
The scent of forever held time in its space.
Life felt so vibrant, everything right,
But shadows grew long in the fading light.

No more battles, tonight it all stops,
Unraveling dreams into pieces and drops.
Brainwashed by whispers that lead us astray,
Falling for facades that steal hope away.

Those who surrender lose all control,
Thirsty for something to fill up the hole.
Life's fragile thread begins to fray,
For your soul's worth a price you can't pay.

Once you would die for a friend by your side,
Now you're left wandering with nowhere to hide.
Reflect on the moments when love was alive,
In the echoes of silence, can we still survive?

So here's to the journey through darkness and doubt,
Finding the light in what life's all about.
Let's weave back together the threads of our past,
And hold on to hope that this feeling will last.
