Shop Girl By Gio Masserati Poem by Gio Masserati

Shop Girl By Gio Masserati

I am Shop Girl

I will stay and keep in line
by fate
with the Holy Spirit
if I follow my intuition
my men are one and the same

'to thine own heart be true'

Like Meg Ryan did
with Tom Hanks
in the movie
'You've Got Mail'
Meg- -
who fell in love with two of one man
put testing fires to
her heart's true love

for a while
her love was in tore and disarray
growing in two directions
tugging her loyalties into question

later, all the while,
her notion
of madness
ensued

only to discover
her hope for them
to be one and the same
had finally come true

'Don't Cry Shop Girl'

Don't Cry!

Like the leading pull
of the spiritual realm
that brought Tom and Meg
together again in
Sleepless in Seattle
walking by faith
by fate

examples from movies- yes
by dynamic personifications
if not today then when
a portrayal of true life stories

as a painted portrait is
of realities layered dimensions
to behold
living breathing landscape
though lifelike and luscious
whether colorfully painted
or continuously still
a beacon of light
a spark of hope
real or surreal

I am Shop Girl

'Don't Cry Shop Girl'

Don't Cry!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I really am Shop Girl so this movie has extra special meaning for me. Except for the obvious infidelity in the begining of the relationship between Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan's characters...their internet connections have a double layered secrecy going on behind their lovers/live-ins backs which I am choosing to overlook in order to keep this movie, 'You've Got Mail', in the running of one of my all time favorite movies.
My view on internet relationships is that, I believe it to be cheating and or infidelity, if you're involved with someone on email, facebook, or internet places elsewhere. Especially if you are already in a relationship...It's like an affair, spiritually and emotionally and mentally...so it is an affair, just online, but what's the difference? ...physicality is only one aspect of a truthful relationship.
