I was Drawn in from the first stanza. A magnificent portrayal of the loneliness, angst, and heartache of men. So wonderfully worded and full. Each simile and metaphor, masterfully created and placed to evoke the ambiance. This is poetry at its highest form. I thoroughly enjoyed.
Immense thanks, Mr. Kurt. Somehow or other, I could sense that you would like it. Regards.
That ruined humankind More than the drinks The entire humanity drank - -You have envisioned this poem with deep emphatically and empathically. Well done. Thanks for sharing.
You are amazing Rajendran ji! With what deep empathy you have tried to picture the fellows in the shoddy bar.....People inflicted with the deep sores of life! The world looks down upon them as drunkards and addicts while people with many other abominable addictions are seen venerable! Those men in the filthy bar have congregated there to drown and douse their grief! They would now decamp Like moths fleeing a dying lamp Into the night's waiting arms To the big bar under the shimmering stars Where the cups are full again With tears frothing in grief and pain How better can one picture the rueful lot awaiting these unlucky men! Thank you for giving the delight of reading such a poignant write! The irony in the images of Crucified Christ and Lord Ganesh as presiding deities of the bar is so striking and satirical!
So wonderful experience of poetic intoxication
So very nice to see you hear and read your thoughtful comment! Thanks a lot.
