Shock Waves Poem by Tom Billsborough

Shock Waves

Shock waves, and the tsunami of terror,
Without warning, indiscriminately kills
and fills the plaza
With the silent dead and moans of the dying.
For the sake of belief in a falsified dogma
He suddenly fashions an earthquake of horror,
From the torn shards of his sensate being.
Who proposed this terrible drama?
Who are the people who induce young men
To seek glory hereafter
In the name of an honored religion,
To bring blame where none is due?

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Shock Waves. A perfect title. You are very good at finding the right words for your titles. Well written lines follow the title fills the plaza With the silent dead and moans of the dying.- - - - - - - - - - - so many countries are being hit by these mindless, heartless non-entities. People who have absolutely nothing to do with anything are slaughtered by these ugly souled monstrosities. Makes me wonder if it will ever end.

It's so easy for these cowards to cause terrible mayhem. I think the Security Services try their best but it's almost impossible to control the perpetrators of these terrible crimes. In 9/11 you lost not only many office workers but nearly 100 courageous firemen. I recorded an interview with one of the surviving fireman. He was featured in a documentary about the song Danny Boy which was played at some of his colleagues' funerals. It was heartbreaking. He was just a regular guy, one you'd be happy to have a pint with. Very sad.

Tom, we must not put our heads in the sand and pretend all the world is a beautiful place. Sometimes poetry has purpose and that is to open our eyes and force us to look at something ugly. While your words are beautiful as always, your message is clear.

Wonderful work! you picked the right one to stress about the degenerate truth into fallacy conspirasy....I think to be stronger they choose someone obsession but at same time ignorance of the same subject, manipulate them into a thinking, then work the plan and the machine now under control...terror is like a fire, exist because of something, dangerous when it knows no limit when not to burn...

There are many aspects of terror. Another involves the terror of poverty and starvation. I wrote one about this but I can't put it on PH as it is to be published by Amazon in a collection of poems by writers from many countries on the general subject of terror. If you'd like to read it, message me and I'll send you a copy.
