Beneath the strong and blazing sun,
That day would always be,
A day that I remember,
As happy as can be.
And there upon the sand we sat,
And looked toward the sea,
The sand felt hot beneath my toes,
A ship ahoy I see.
The seagulls flew,
And then swooped down,
Their hungry beaks attacking,
For any morsel left around,
Their wings were wildly flapping,
That summer day so distant now,
But clearly in my mind,
Many years have disappeared,
Great memories left behind.
