Shield And Spear Poem by Zyw Zywa

Shield And Spear

In the new world is peace
yonder, further to the west
first, you have to walk over bodies
of Indians and unbelievers
and start anew

War was followed by a flu
a deadly outbreak
of viral fever, hardened
fourfold, invisible
until it was too late

Afterwards the women fought
for the hand of a hero
who survived with his shield
and a spear, to defend them
a hand in which they are safe

In the forced peace
the fight is fought
the hands are given
shield and spear have been
put under the beds

Now I live in peace
in a new world with my man
lying next to me, absent
and restless he tightens his muscles
around his identity
