She's So Attractive! Poem by Denis Martindale

She's So Attractive!

She was sweet, kind and attractive, and even from the start,
I knew she had so much to give if I gave her my heart.
She wore no ring, so she was free to smile and fall in love,
And, here's the thing, she smiled at me in ways more than enough.
I can't say that I walked on air, I was too scared to walk,
All I could do was stand and stare, yet she came close to talk,
Then wrote her number on a card and placed it in my hand.
Refusing her was way too hard, as if God had this planned.
But when she turned to walk away, I asked her for her name,
She smiled again and chose to stay, and that was how love came.
An hour passed, preserved in time, life stories to unfold,
And when we kissed, life felt sublime and precious to behold.
Straight away, on Valentine's Day, I bought a single rose!
Content at heart, this was okay, the evening to propose!
When she said, 'Yes! ' we kissed again, and I sighed with relief!
I'm more blessed than a thousand men, I'm blessed beyond belief!
