This is a beautiful, beautiful poem. I first read Sherwood in my primary school in about 1955. Some of the verses had stuck in my mind and I had not read the poem since until very recently when I found it on the Internet. It was quite magical and even better than I remembered. Yes, the years certainly did roll away for me! This ought to be England's national poem and read aloud on St Geore's day in it's entirity! Tony Hassell
