Share The Easter Story! Poem by Denis Martindale

Share The Easter Story!

When I share the Easter Story with both the young and old,
I can share the Saviour's glory, its wonders to behold.
I can present the Father's plan, His Royal Pardon, too,
Revealing Christ, the Son of Man, God's prophet in plain view.
Christ's miracles are understood, the deaf, the dumb, the blind,
Then Jesus did what Jesus could, for them and all Mankind.
With miracles, He could portray His great authority,
Disciples followed Him each day, except to Calvary.

For only one of these men went to see the Saviour die,
To see this prophecy Christ meant, and yet still question why.
Christ's resurrection seemed forlorn, at such a time as this,
No wonder that the Jews showed scorn, such wonders to dismiss.
Yet Christ remained upon that Cross to save the planet Earth,
Enduring pain and shame and loss as if to prove His worth.
The Baptist saw the Lamb of God who takes Man's sins away,
And didn't think of this as odd that death would come one day.

Christ was prepared to suffer all and strengthened for this time,
Before God's future miracle, so precious, so sublime.
And though entombed and out of sight, Christ's body must remain
Until the day Christ saw the light outside the tomb again!
It's shared for our inspection! Soon after Jesus died!
Resurrection! Resurrection! Though scourged and crucified!
When I share the Easter Story, God's wonders I unfold!
I can share the Saviour's glory! The greatest story ever told!
