Shanta Claus In India Poem by LALATENDU KABI

Shanta Claus In India

Santa Claus in India
(NOT A SONNET,)

Santa left home in the middle of night,
To share his toys with pure delight.
The power supply failed, it was dark,
No light, no fire, not a spark.

From home to home, he roamed around,
Fearless as kids had sleep profound.
Through chilling winds and frosty air,
He spread his gifts with love and care.

He walked with grace, but could not see,
Which road was filthy and which was free.
He stepped on human feces on the way
And thought, 'These are cakes of the Christmas Day.

'Indians have scattered so many cakes
For who ever eats or who ever takes.'
