Kalidasa's Shakuntala occupies a rare and a prominent place among the scholars and poets of Sanskrit classic literature. The love story of Shakuntala and Dushyanta can be read number of times, again and again. This is a story that has had a great impact on my mind. A fabulous tale retold.

The poem pertains to the love and marriage story of Shakunthala between the King Dushanta who forgets the case of marriage conducted in the asram or hermitage of sage Kanwa and the detailed story can be understood from the poem itself which is one among the master piece of Kalidasa beyond comments.
