The word S-O-U-L has many meanings, but your poem focuses wonderfully on my favorite connotation of soul, that is, it is the part of of our individual self which is never wrong, never small-minded or selfish, always free and freeing, ready for flight if not already in flight! And in this poem two souls are flying in tandem - how wonderful they found each other and launched into mutual freedom. Your poem is liberating to the pent-up spirit and the depressed mind of the reader, and I join the two of you in visionary flight (as other readers will too!) I'm gushing my appreciation because your poem starts a fire in the reader, but let me just add a technical note: your command of imagery is impressive. You don't just assert the free flight in words; you create the EXPERIENCE of it through your imagery. And my Poetry teacher Deborah Keenan taught us: Imagery is the essence of a Poem!
