Senseless Sappho Poem by Darlan M Cunha

Senseless Sappho

*

"Lacerate the maiden breasts / tear the tunics" (SAPPHO - Fr.5)

If left out in the open, the person gets sick and dies
and so, they say, also the love that gnaws so much
the tigers when it tears the tibbies
both Amazonas and Atacama, Oh duets, creatures
on the left and right, the center doesn't count, it's for
undecided, weak and smart waiting for a chance, but
I like to hear breasts - firm and soft at the same time, yes
an irresolvable mystery, which remains so at least
a mystery in the stumbling blocks of mankind.
