Many ways to go with this- for me, my heart leaps to the years upon years when the river with all its ice floes smashed over the banks and swept through the pastures and the riding club and we had to ride our horses out and take them into the shelter belt around the city or into the city and turn them loose in back yards. Fences knocked down, barns swept away, hay stacks spoiled, tack ruined. But later when all had dried out the flood plain was beautiful in its greenery and new barns and new fencing. A changing season in so many ways. Excellent write that takes me down more than one memory lane and more than one season 10+++++++++++
